If you’re looking for one of Tokyo’s newest food destinations, Neo Nice Burger in Jiyugaoka deserves a spot on your list.

The highly anticipated complex brings together three popular brands under one roof:

  • Neo Nice Burger
  • I’m donut?
  • dacō Bakery Cafe

Whether you’re craving a handcrafted burger, fluffy fresh donuts, or artisan bread, you can enjoy all three in a single visit.

In this review, I’ll share my experience visiting Neo Nice Burger, including the atmosphere, menu highlights, wait times, and the best items I tried from all three stores.

What is Neo Nice Burger Jiyugaoka?

Neo Nice Burger is a handcrafted burger restaurant located along Jiyugaoka’s famous Suzukake Street, about a 3-minute walk from Jiyugaoka Station.

The building houses three of Tokyo’s most talked-about food brands:

  • Neo Nice Burger
  • I’m donut?
  • dacō

Neo Nice Burger and I’m donut? are located on the first floor, while dacō can be found on the basement level.

Many visitors miss dacō on their first visit, so keep an eye out for the entrance downstairs.

Wait Time and Crowds

I visited on a Sunday around noon.

Even before reaching the ordering kiosk, there were already around 15 people waiting in line.

The queue continued growing throughout my visit, showing just how popular the restaurant has become.

Fortunately, chairs are provided in the waiting area, making the experience much more comfortable.

If you’re hoping to try a specific burger, visiting earlier in the day is highly recommended since some menu items can sell out by early afternoon.

Interior and Seating

One of the first things you’ll notice is the bright and open design.

Large glass windows fill the restaurant with natural light, creating a welcoming atmosphere.

Neo Nice Burger offers:

  • Indoor table seating (8 tables for two)
  • Outdoor terrace seating (11 seats)

The real surprise is that the entire complex offers approximately 130 seats when combined with the spacious dacō cafe downstairs, which features 82 seats.

Compared to many restaurants in Tokyo, finding a seat here is relatively easy.

The terrace area is also partially covered, making it usable even on rainy days.

What We Ordered at Neo Nice Burger

Neo Nice Cheeseburger

The Neo Nice Cheeseburger is the restaurant’s signature burger and an excellent introduction to the menu.

The combination of juicy beef, melted cheese, fresh tomato, and crisp onions creates a perfectly balanced bite.

The tomato adds a refreshing acidity that cuts through the richness of the meat, while the onions provide a satisfying crunch.

What stood out most was the bun.

Since the team behind the restaurant also operates a bakery, it’s no surprise that the sesame bun is exceptional—soft, flavorful, and sturdy enough to hold everything together.

Neo Teriyaki Burger

The Neo Teriyaki Burger offers a lighter flavor profile.

Fresh lettuce and a special mayonnaise sauce complement the sweet-savory teriyaki glaze perfectly.

Unlike many teriyaki burgers that can feel heavy, this one remains surprisingly refreshing.

The crisp vegetables help balance the richness, making it a great option for those looking for something slightly lighter.

Fresh-Cut French Fries

The biggest surprise of the meal wasn’t actually the burger—it was the fries.

Perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, they tasted noticeably different from standard frozen fries.

Watching staff prepare potatoes from scratch inside the restaurant made the quality even more impressive.

The seasoning is simple, allowing the natural flavor of the potatoes to shine.

Don’t Miss I’m donut?

After finishing lunch, I headed next door to the famous I’m donut?

As one of Japan’s most popular fresh donut brands, the shop was packed with customers throughout the afternoon.

By around 1 PM, several items had already sold out.

Among the donuts available, these two stood out the most.

Angel Cream Chocolate

This was the first donut I picked up.

Inside the soft and fluffy donut is a generous amount of chocolate cream.

The filling is rich and satisfying without feeling overly sweet or heavy.

The contrast between the airy dough and smooth chocolate filling makes it incredibly easy to finish in one sitting.

Chocolate lovers will absolutely enjoy this one.

Caramel Crunch

Caramel Crunch delivers exactly what its name promises.

The crispy caramel topping creates an enjoyable contrast with the soft donut underneath.

Each bite combines sweetness, crunch, and the signature fluffy texture that I’m donut? is known for.

Despite its rich appearance, it never feels overwhelming.

Best Bread from dacō

Located on the basement floor, dacō offers a completely different atmosphere.

Concrete walls, modern interior design, and plenty of seating create a relaxed cafe environment that’s perfect for lingering over coffee and pastries.

When I visited around 1 PM, many popular items had already sold out.

Fortunately, I managed to grab a few highlights.

Framboise Stock

This pastry immediately caught my eye because of its beautiful presentation.

The first bite reveals a light, crisp texture reminiscent of a cookie.

Inside, rich chocolate pairs perfectly with the bright acidity of raspberry.

The balance between sweetness and tartness makes every bite interesting and keeps the pastry from feeling too heavy.

It’s the kind of pastry that pairs wonderfully with coffee.

Mentaiko Baguette

After enjoying several sweet items, I wanted something savory.

The Mentaiko Baguette was the perfect choice.

The flavor of Japanese cod roe is surprisingly bold, while the bread itself remains soft and chewy inside with a lightly crisp exterior.

Simple yet incredibly satisfying, it’s easy to understand why savory breads are just as popular here as the sweets.

Final Thoughts

Neo Nice Burger is much more than just another burger restaurant.

The combination of premium burgers, the famous I’m donut?, and the highly popular dacō bakery makes this one of the most exciting food destinations in Jiyugaoka.

The Neo Nice Cheeseburger alone is worth the visit, but being able to enjoy burgers, donuts, and artisan bread all in one location makes the experience even more memorable.

If you’re exploring Tokyo and searching for great food beyond the typical tourist spots, Neo Nice Burger should definitely be added to your itinerary.
